Celebrate Mardi Gras at the Gaslamp in San Diego!

You don’t have to go all the way to Florida to experience Mardi Gras this February!  San Diego’s own Gaslamp Quarter is hosting its own Mardi Gras celebration on Tuesday, February 21 from 6pm to midnight. The celebration consists of a masquerade parade, DJs, live performances, themed areas and much more entertainment! If you’re in the area, it’ll make your Tuesday terrific!

The 2012 Mardi Gras celebration plans to be bigger than ever with four live stages and elaborately themed areas. Dazzling video projections and lighting will make the historic Gaslamp come alive as the some of the biggest names in DJs, live bands, dance troupes and more perform.

Craig Smoove, Scooter & Lavelle and Paul Oakenfold will perform on K and L Street between 4th and 6th Avenue between 6 to midnight to create Electric City. As part of the Bloc Party DJ set, G*Roy and Erick Diaz will mix on Island Avenue and J Street to perform the SideShow. You can also visit Club Rio on Market Street to dance to Ayla Simone, Brett Bodley and Alex Dreamz. Visit Cirque Noir on G Street to be delighted by Critical Brass Band, Capoiera Brasil, Platt Brothers, Super Sonic Samaba School and Maculele. Collette, Jon Dadon and Frankie M. will light up the Red Light District on F Street. Finally, Kruciaal Element will host interactive entertainment and performances on E Street.
