On Dec. 13 and 20 more than 80,000 San Diegans will gather for the 38th Annual Parade of Lights on the “Big Bay.” Sponsored by the Port of San Diego, this annual holiday celebration is one of the most anticipated in the county. Kicking-off with a fireworks extravaganza at 5:30 p.m. on both night, this free celebration features over 80 boats decorated for the holiday season that will sail from the east end of Shelter Island into the downtown waterfront and Coronado areas. This year’s parade celebrates “Christmas at the Zoo” with boats of all kinds judged for creative lighting, decorations and crowd-engaging fun.
