What better way to enjoy the beautiful warm weather than by soaking up some live Smooth Jazz under the shining California sun? With an outstanding lineup, including some of the best of Smooth Jazz, the Smooth FM 98.1 Gaslamp Festival is sure to put you in the best of spirits just in time for that 3-day Memorial Day weekend you’ve been longing for.
 This all-day celebration will consist of performances by some world-class jazz acts as well as numerous local San Diego bands and solo artists. It will feature 2 main outdoor stages and 25 of Gaslamp’s best venues, where popular and up-and-coming acts from the area will play throughout the day and night. This year, some of the biggest performers include Euge Groove, Eric Darius, Jessy J, Richard Elliot, and Norman Brown, among others. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at participating venues, but keep in mind that as most of these are bars, all festival attendees must be at least 21 years old.
Because of the significance of this event, there will most likely be a busy crowd and very little parking available. To alleviate parking issues, the festival coordinators have asked attendees to park at various train stations (where you can park for free!) and use the convenient Trolley system to get to the Gaslamp Quarter. There is a Trolley pass available that provides unlimited riding for the duration of the day for only $5.00.
When you exit the Trolley is the perfect time to explore the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter on foot to see all that it has to offer. If you get there early, you may miss some of the event crowds and have time to try a delicious omelet at Café 21 or munch some popcorn at the famous Crunchtime Popcorn, some of the Gaslamp Quarter’s best. No matter where you visit in the area, the Smooth FM 98.1 Gaslamp Festival will be a great time and get you in the perfect mindset for summer!
